Are you interested in becoming a member of the Establishment Licence Holders Forum?

We are seeking new members for the Establishment Licence Holders Forum. As a section of LASA, the forum aims to:

Support Establishment Licence Holders and Named Persons Responsible for Compliance for example by providing induction courses and CPD.
Act as a conduit between the Animals in Science Regulation Unit (Home Office) and Establishment Licence Holders by engaging in regular communication with the ELH community and raising pertinent issues with ASRU and ASPU leadership.
Engage with other stakeholder groups with an interest in ASPA and its regulations.

We are especially looking for Establishment Licence Holders to join us, but we also welcome interest from ELH delegates.

The forum meets approximately 6 times a year (1-2h virtual meetings). Currently, there are stakeholder interactions with ASRU at least twice a year. There may be other events or activities (e.g., responses to ASRU consultations or feedback) that members would be required to contribute to.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is a prerequisite for many professional medical and scientific disciplines but less common for those involved in laboratory animal work.

Revision of Directive 86/609EEC requires that persons “are adequately educated, competent and continuously trained” (Article 23A). The scheme is available FREE to LASA members. Please contact the Secretariat for more information.
