Theme: Supporting your Named Persons
When: Monday 28 October 2024
Where: Central London
Join us for the 2024 Establishment Licence Holders’ Autumn Forum, tailored for PELhs within scientific organisations, focusing on vital strategies for upholding compliance with the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 in biomedical research.
Under Establishment Licence Standard Condition 15 of the Act, licence holders must nominate and ensure the performance of Named Persons, pivotal figures with distinct legal responsibilities concerning animal welfare and good practice. Our agenda delves into empowering these Named Persons while aligning with the principles of replacement, reduction, and refinement in research practices.
Led by experts, discussions will encompass the critical role of Establishment Licence Holders in ensuring legal adherence and ethical standards. Updates on regulatory frameworks, operational enhancements, and insights into working collaboratively with Named Persons will be shared. Moreover, the session includes firsthand experiences and perspectives from Named Persons across various disciplines, shedding light on effective support mechanisms.
Engage in interactive exercises, including virtual polling and shared experiences, to tackle common challenges and devise innovative solutions. Learn strategies to optimise the effectiveness of Named Persons and craft organisational team charters for enhanced compliance.
Don’t miss this opportunity to elevate your understanding of regulatory responsibilities and foster a culture of care within your organisation. Join us in championing excellence in scientific research while prioritising animal welfare and supporting your Named Persons!
